1 Does your project aim at something new – new knowledge, processes or products that go beyond the current state of the art?
2 At the start of the project, was it uncertain whether and how the technical goal could be achieved (genuine scientific-technical risk)?
3 Do you proceed systematically and traceably – with goals, work packages and documented results?
4 Does the work go beyond mere routine, adaptation or market launch?
5 Do you carry out your own R&D in a company subject to tax in Germany (or commission contract research in the EEA)?
6 Do costs arise for this – R&D staff, contract research or owner work?
